Digital Media, a way towards Women’s Empowerment?

Conference organized by Femmes Actives Japon Association, in partnership with

the CCI France Japon at the Institut Français

 

Women used to be under-represented in traditional media, but the new digital media might ignore the gender gap. Can it be a new platform for women to express themselves, promote roles models and women leadership?

How is Digital Media used by women in Japan compared to countries and regions such as Korea or Europe?

How can it help change the perception of women and promote women leadership vs traditional media?

How could women further utilize this tool to promote their cause and facilitate their work life?

 

The conference on Thursday June 4th will gather five female representatives of traditional media, internet players and topic experts: (alph.)

 

Sonja Blaschke is a German journalist, author and TV production coordinator/producer. Kaori Hayashi Kaori Hayashi is Professor of Media and Journalism Studiesat the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, the University of Tokyo.
Iwamura.jpeg Miki Iwamura is Managing Director, APAC Brand & Marketing, CMO, Japan, Women@Google Japan Chapter Chair, at Google Japan.

Kyungjoo Kim

Kyungjoo Kim is Associate Professor at the International Department of Tokai University College of Arts and Sciences.

Hiromi Ohnishi

Hiromi Ohnishi is Executive Director of Digital Business / International Affairs / Education Business at The Asahi Shimbun.
