Neuhaus is a manufacturer of Belgian luxury chocolates. The company was founded in Brussels in 1857 by Jean Neuhaus, who first thought about covering medicines with the finest chocolate to delight our customers in the apothecary. Later, this idea evolved into the original Belgian praline as we know it today: chocolate filled with delight. A couple of years later, the ballotin was invented to avoid that the pralines were crushed together.
For more than 160 years, Neuhaus and Belgium have been inextricably linked − ever since the founder fell in love with Brussels and its inhabitants and began contributing his artisanal chocolates to the city’s rich gastronomic culture.
Our chocolate is a symphony of taste and texture, made with the finest natural ingredients, composed with the utmost care by our Maîtres Chocolatiers.
Today, Neuhaus has a total turnover of 90 million euros, over 1000 selling points in 40 countries and more than 500 employees. All Neuhaus delicacies are still made in Vlezenbeek, near Brussels, and are exported worldwide. The company was named Accredited Supplier to the Belgian Crown.
