Decoration for GM Sophie

On 31 May 2024, H.E. Mr. Antoine Evrard, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Japan, bestowed Sophie Bocklandt, General Manager of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BLCCJ), the honour of Knight in the Order of the Crown.

This award recognises Sophie’s extensive contributions over many years to the development of the relations between Japan and Belgium in various fields, including sister city relations (she was a JET at Kanazawa city hall from 2006 till 2011), academic cooperation (since 2022 she is Chair of the Ghent University Alumni Chapter Japan) and economic exchanges (she has been working at the BLCCJ since May 2012).
