New flagship member: AB InBev Japan

The BLCCJ is delighted that AB InBev Japan joined us as a new Flagship Member in 2021.

AB InBev, is a multinational drink and brewing company based in Leuven, Belgium. We have built leading positions in the most important beer profit pools in the world, through a combination of solid organic growth and selected, value enhancing acquisitions and combinations. We are a truly global brewer with about 200,000 colleagues, positioned to serve the evolving needs of consumers worldwide.

In terms of the brands, from local brews to beloved classics to historic recipes, we brew it all. Our portfolio of more than 500 brands means we have beers for every type of occasion and our iconic brands bring people together across generations and communities. With well over 500 brands and countless beer varieties, we take great pride in each and every ounce.

Global brands: Capitalizing on common values and experiences which appeal to consumers across borders, our three global brands, Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois, have recognition and appeal worldwide in a significant number of markets globally;

Multi-country brands: With a strong consumer base in their home market, our multi-country brands, Beck’s, Hoegaarden, Leffe and Michelob Ultra, bring international flavor to selected markets, connecting with consumers across continents; and

Local brands: Offering locally popular tastes, local brands such as Aguila, Bud Light, Carlton Draught, Cass, Cristal, Harbin, Jupiler, Poker, Skol and Victoria connect particularly well with consumers in their home markets.

We’ve also been dedicated to sustainability for years, but now we are going further – with goals that will have measurable, positive impact on our communities. Through our 2025 Sustainability Goals we are connecting thousands of farmers to technologies and skills, ensuring water access and quality in high-stress communities, partnering with our suppliers to increase recycling content, and adding renewable electricity capacity to regional grids.

Our AB InBev Japan organization was established in 2015 and has been steadily expanding in past five years.

Currently, premium beer in Japan is positioned as “beer for beer lovers”, and it still has a huge potential to increase recognition and availability.

Our ambition is to develop the market as a new pioneer, and to actively disrupt the historical market trends in Japan.
