The EBC shared the following information on the new procedures for residents and non-residents to come (back) to Japan:

METI and MOFA have published new information on how to apply for visas (both long-term and short-term) since 1 October 2020.

The Immigration Services Agency (ISA) has also published a FAQ for non-Japanese residents. Please note that it only covers what the ISA is in charge of, i.e. not the COVID-19 testing.

And Japan and Korea have reached an agreement to start the Business Track from today October 8, to resume cross-border travel between the two countries.

Also non-Japanese holding a valid resident permit in Japan are eligible to this Business Track – ie any Belgian or Luxembourg resident in Japan who needs to travel to Korea for business purpose could apply to the Business Track and being enabled to some relaxed quarantine restrictions.
